Purzameen

Purzameen is a pure Kashmir Wool Shawl with original kashmiri hook work. Purzameen shawls are completely hand-embroidred and are usually formalized imitations of nature like leaf, flowers, and tree designs and these are always done in rich colors like deep mellow tones of maroon, dark red, gold yellow, brown, and many more.

The floral designing appears like heavy close embroidery-like weave, and usually comprises small or large flowers delicately sprayed or combined; this is a unique piece of craftsmanship, in which a muti-colored pattern is embriodred all over the surface, and after the shawl is complete, the expert embroiderer works the outline to bring in the beauty of design. The characteristic kashmiri design, the mango-shape, is known as Paisley. The Paisley design is so ubiquitous that it is difficult to realize that its many years old. It had evolved from 1600's floral and tree-of-life design.
